About the Museum of Shanghai Toys (MoST)

Hi! Thanks for visiting this blog. Here’s abit of background about the Museum of Shanghai Toys for you. 🙂

The first museum in the world to exhibit vintage oriental toys, MoST boasts an extensive collection of toys that originated from Shanghai, China, from the period of 1910s to 1970s.

As an avid Chinese toy collector, this museum is truely a testament to my lifelong labour of love. By visiting this museum, you will reminisce about your childhood memories and discover the exciting stories behind these vintage toys. I’ll be most pleased to bring you on a guided tour through my Shanghai toy collection and I’ll trust that you’ll enjoy exploring the different eras of Chinese history in a new light. And what’s a museum without souvenirs? We’ve got that covered, in our gift shop at the first floor.

Do drop by soon and we’re looking forward to welcoming you to our enthralling world. 😉

As a freelance writer, I would like to interview you for a profile in TurboJET Horizon magazine, for a section about a Hong Kong native who has relocated to another Asian city. Horizon is distributed freely aboard Shun Tak’s ferries between Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen.

Please email me back at your earliest convenience if you are interested in a phone or email interview.

  12. Hello! I have searched the website to try to find photo’s of the toy’s that are at the museum but I must be doing something wrong. I am able to follow the trip through the museum in Nuremberg and Yohahoma and see the wonderful toy’s displayed there but I can not find the displays at MoST. Could someone please give me some specific directions so I can enjoy looking at the toy’s until I can actually make a trip to Shanghai to view them in person. Thank you very much for your assistance in advance. Terry
